Ravindra Jadeja officially ruled out of Bangladesh Tests; India set to announce UP's uncapped all-rounder as replacement

After the New Zealand tour, India is set to travel to Bangladesh for three ODIs and two Test matches. The tour will start with the ODI series, which will kick off just after a four-day gap after the conclusion of the New Zealand tour.

The first ODI will be played on Sunday, December 4 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, while the Test series will start on December 14 (Wednesday) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. However, India will miss the services of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on the tour.

On Saturday, the report by Cricbuzz confirmed that the all-rounder had been officially ruled out of the test series as well. Jadeja hasn't completely recovered from his knee injury, which he picked up during the Asia Cup 2022.

And it will take more time for him to recover. However, the BCCI had previously confirmed his exclusion from the ODI series. And it was young RCB all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed who replaced him for the three ODIs.

In terms of his replacement for the test series, India A star Saurabh Kumar is expected to take his place. The Uttar Pradesh-born all-rounder Saurabh Kumar has been part of the India A side, and his inclusion as the replacement will be officially announced in the coming few days.

The reports from Cricbuzz quoted, "Saurabh Kumar, the left-arm spinner from Uttar Pradesh, who is part of the India A side, will come in place of Ravindra Jadeja, who is yet to recover from his knee injury. The national selectors will confirm the replacement in a couple of days."

On the other hand, Jadeja has faced backlash from some fans since the news of his exclusion came out because he was seen doing road shows wearing the Indian jersey for his wife Rivaba Jadeja for the coming Gujarat Assembly elections. His wife is representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
