Shubham Gill scripts history; breaks Virat Kohli's record with his blistering 126-run knock vs NZ in 3rd T20I
The third and final T20I of the three-match series between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad ended in a one-sided affair. The visitors suffered their heaviest defeat in the shorter format of the game. Team India registered a massive win of 168 runs, their biggest T20I win.

With this win, the hosts have won the series 2-1 and continued their dominance at home in the bilateral series. Batting first, India posted a huge total of 235/4 in 20 overs, which proved to be more than enough for the Kiwis.

It started with India winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Ishan Kishan (1) got out early. But after that, Rahul Tripathi played a brilliant cameo and added 80 runs with Shubman Gill. Tripathi got out after scoring 44 runs off just 22 balls.

Suryakumar Yadav (24 off 13) and Hardik Pandya (30 off 17) also contributed well, but it was all about Shubman Gill, who continued his purple patch, and after scoring centuries in ODIs, he smashed his maiden T20I century as well.

He scored an unbeaten century and made 126 runs off just 63 balls with 12 fours and seven sixes to guide India to a massive score. With his blistering century, Gill broke Virat Kohli's record for the highest individual score by an Indian batter in T20Is. Virat scored an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in the 2022 Asia Cup.

The 23-year-old also became the eighth Indian batter to score a T20I century while becoming the fifth Indian batter to score a hundred in all three formats. Gill also became the youngest Indian player to score a T20I hundred. Chasing the huge target, New Zealand had a horrible start.

They lost their first five wickets for just 21 runs in 4.3 overs. They couldn't recover from that point and kept losing wickets regularly. In the end, they got bowled out for their third-lowest T20I total of 66 runs in 12.1 overs. Hardik took 4/16 while Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Shivam Mavi picked up two wickets each.
