The Indian team is gearing up for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The series will begin with the first game on February 9 (Thursday) in Nagpur. On Wednesday, Australia reached Bengaluru and started their four-day camp ahead of the first test in Nagpur.

It is the last chance for Team India to secure their place in the final of the ongoing World Test Championship, as they need to win the series with a margin of 3-0 or 3-1. If they lose or win by a smaller margin, then they will have to depend on other teams.

Thus, Rohit Sharma and his men will not leave any stone unturned. Meanwhile, the challenge for India will be their pace bowling, as Jasprit Bumrah is not part of the squad due to injury, and Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj will have the responsibility.

Siraj, who has been in brilliant form with the ball, recently gained the No. 1 ranking in the ODI format. He rose through the ranks after some consistent performance over the last year or so, and he was deservedly rewarded with the No. 1 ranking.

A lot will depend on him in Bumrah's absence. However, during India's practise session on Friday, veteran off-spinner Ravi Ashwin posted a video clip of him with Siraj in which the pacer shared how he felt after becoming the No. 1 ODI bowler.

Ashwin asked, "bata bhai, kaisa feel ho raha hai, number 1 ODI bowler banke(Tell me brother, how are you feeling after becoming the No.1 ODI bowler?). Responding to Ashwin, Siraj said: "Bahut hi accha lag raha hai, socha nahi tha ki number 1 bowler banuga(I am overjoyed, I hadn't imagined that I would be number 1 bowler) but it feels good."

Meanwhile, the upcoming series will be action-packed, with two of the top teams locking horns against each other. India won the last two editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which took place in Australia. On the other hand, Australia hasn't won a test series in India since 2014, so it will be an ideal series to prove the dominance for both teams.
