Suresh Raina makes big announcement about his IPL career

When talking about friendship, we Indians mostly think of the fellowship of Jay and Veeru. Well, that's a fictional friendship, but when it comes to reality and especially sports, you need not look further than Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina.

Both the former India international cricketers are like a brother from another mother. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who belongs from Ranchi while Suresh Raina is from Uttar Pradesh, became a good friend during their days together in the Indian national cricket team and during the Chennai Super Kings days.

You can judge their friendship by the example that both the superstar players of the Indian cricket team retired on the very same day, on the 15th of August, 2020, during the uncertain times of countrywide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both have set another excellent example of their friendship recently. In an interview with News24 Sports, Suresh Raina announced that if Mahendra Singh Dhoni retires from the Indian Premier League the very same day, he will also retire.

For a couple of months now, it's been going on social media that Mahendra Singh Dhoni may retire from playing in the Indian Premier League after completing the IPL 2021 edition. However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan himself confirmed Dhoni is working hard to play on.

Suresh Raina will convince MS Dhoni to continue if CSK win IPL 2021

Suresh Raina, during his interview with News24Sports, further added that if the Chennai Super Kings win the Indian Premier League 2021 edition, he will go on to convince MS Dhoni to play the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 edition as well since there is not much gap between IPL 2021 end and the start of IPL 2022.

Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni have played for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL since 2008. Before was overtaken by Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina was once the long-time leading run-scorer of the tournament. Suresh Raina is known as Mr. IPL due to his performance in the world's biggest T20 league.

MS Dhoni has played more than 210 matches in the IPL and has scored 4669 runs. On the other hand, Suresh Raina has played 200 games and has scored 5491 runs.
