The 15th game of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is underway at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the Lucknow Super Giants. LSG won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Batting first, RCB posted a huge total of 212/2 in their first inning. Bangalore had two big partnerships in their inning. Both openers added 96 runs in 11.3 overs. Virat Kohli looked brilliant and took on the LSG bowlers from the start.

He scored 61 off 44 balls, with four maximums and four boundaries in his inning. The former RCB skipper played some eye-catching shots in his inning. Notably, it was Virat's second half-century in three innings this season. With his half-century, the former RCB skipper broke some records.

Virat has now equaled Shikhar Dhawan for the second-most half centuries in the IPL. It was the 46th IPL fifty for the former RCB skipper. Virat has crossed the 50-run mark in the IPL 51 times, the same as Shikhar Dhawan. Meanwhile, DC skipper David Warner has the highest 50-plus score with 61.

On the other hand, Virat has crossed the 60-run mark in the IPL 33 times, which is joint-second-most in the league with Chris Gayle. It's Warner again at the top with 37 times scoring 60 or more runs. Apart from Virat, two other RCB stars scored fifties.

Skipper Faf du Plessis remained unbeaten on 79 off 46, with five fours and five sixes. Glenn Maxwell also played a quick cameo of 59 off 29 with three fours and six maximus. RCB suffered a big loss in the last game by 81 runs against KKR and needs this win badly. On the other hand, LSG has two wins and one loss under their belt in three games so far.
