Wanidu Hasaranga reveals the name of his favorite batsman

Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga has been on the headlines after joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the second phase of IPL 2021. He has been impressive for Sri Lanka recently and has been rewarded with an IPL contract. The all-rounder has contributed immensely to both aspects of the game and is expected to be a future star.

Earlier, Hasaranga had revealed the name of his favorite batsman and also answered a few other interesting questions. When asked about his favorite batter, Hasaranga replied the name Angelo Mathews. The 24-year-old claimed that he loves watching the batting of the Sri Lanka veteran.

Angelo Mathews has been the backbone of Sri Lankan cricket over the years. He has delivered several crucial knocks for the team regularly. However, he has been missing from the squad recently due to contract issues with the board.

Hasaranga also answered other exciting questions and revealed some details. He claimed that Lasith Malinga is his favorite bowler. He also stated that "Googly" is his favorite wicket-taking delivery and loves to deceive the batters.

How has Wanidu Hasaranga fared in his career?

Wanidu Hasaranga is a valuable asset in the current Sri Lankan side. He was the Player of the Series in the recently concluded T20I series against India. As mentioned earlier, his performances also saw him bag an IPL contract with RCB for the remainder of IPL 2021.

Hasaranaga will prove to be a great addition to the RCB lineup. He has delivered consistently for the nation. His presence alongside Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell will make the side a deadly one.

Hasaranga is a fierce leg-break bowler and a robust lower-middle order batter. He has represented Sri Lanka in 26 ODIs and 22 T20Is, grabbing 25 and 33 wickets, respectively. He not only takes wickets regularly but also contains the batters with his tight lines. Hasaranga has an economy of just 6.26 in T20Is, which makes him a dangerous bowler.
