Watch: Dale Steyn loses his cool after argument with umpire in PSL 2021
The 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League is currently underway in Karachi. Defending champions Karachi Kings began their campaign in style with a victory over the Quetta Gladiators. The other matches have also been quite entertaining.
The Quetta Gladiators have struggled this season despite having the likes of Chris Gayle, Tom Banton, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Dale Steyn, and Faf du Plessis in their squad. In yesterday’s fixture against Peshawar Zalmi, the Quetta-based PSL franchise batted first and posted 198/7 on the board.
Sarfaraz Ahmed top-scored for the team with a brilliant 81 whereas Azam Khan hit a 26-ball 47. Saqib Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers for Peshawar Zalmi, with 3/34 in his four overs.
Chasing 199 runs, Peshawar Zalmi lost Kamran Akmal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore early. Still, some top-quality performances from Haider Ali, Imam ul Haq, Shoaib Malik, Sherfane Rutherford, and Wahab Riaz ensured that Zalmi won the match by three wickets in the final over of the contest.
Steyn had a forgettable outing with the ball. The right-arm pacer from South Africa bowled four overs, conceding 44 runs at an economy rate of 11. Steyn took two wickets. However, his team could not win the match against Peshawar Zalmi.

During the first over of the second innings, Dale Steyn was involved in a heated argument with the umpire. The matter was that Dale bowled for Quetta Gladiators with a ribbon on his hand. Since it was his bowling hand, the umpire urged him to remove the substance.
Dale Steyn was visibly angry after the incident. Lastly, he listened to the umpire and threw the ribbon away. You can watch the video of that incident here.
Steyn will be keen to improve his bowling in the coming matches. It will be interesting to see how he performs for the Gladiators.
