Indian Super League club FC Goa has agreed terms with Delhi Football Club for the loan deal of the most promising talent in the country, Anwar Ali Junior.

Anwar Ali Jr was subject to interest from various Indian Super League clubs towards the end of the transfer window, after the young Indian defender was clear to compete in the Indian top football league.

Anwar Ali Jr was suspended from playing by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the governing body of football in India, in 2019 after the player was detect to have congenital heart condition, Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy.

However, after a lot of convincing and asking for him to be allowed to play professional football, then the clearance from Delhi high court and then the AIFF medical team, he was permitted to play professional football. However, the risk of sudden cardiac arrest on the field remains a worry.

But since the youngster was given the green signal to play professional football, he started to attract many interests from various Indian Super League clubs, including ATK Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City FC and FC Goa.

But at the end, it is FC Goa who have snapped him up on a 18 month loan deal. Since the player is contract on a five year deal with Delhi Football Club, the player can only switch club when the winter transfer window opens on the 1st of January.

This will be Anwar Ali Jr's return to the Indian Super League after he was part of the Mumbai City FC setup in the past, and struggled for game time. But, this time, he is coming as much more improved as just recently won the Golden Boot in the I-League qualifiers that was held in October. He scored 4 goals in 7 matches, which is really numbers for a defender.
