Mumbai City FC vs FC Goa Indian Super League 2021-2022

Mumbai City FC completely controlled the match against FC Goa as the Des Buckingham's side registered their first win of the Indian Super League 2021-2022 season.

FC Goa had absolutely no chance against Mumbai City FC, as former FC Goa striker Igor Angulo scored a brace against Mumbai City FC, while debutant Ygor Catatau scored the 3rd goal for the Islanders.

Mumbai City FC took control of the match of the get go and gave no chance to FC Goa. Mumbai kept on making attacking moves on FC Goa.

The goal mouth opened at the 33rd minute when Igor Angulo converted a penalty. It was Mumbai City FC's midfielder Cassio Gabriel who earned the penalty after Ivan Gonzalez took him down while trying to intercept a cross from Amay Ranawade. Igor Angulo stepped up to take the penalty and he converted that.

While there was no goals in the first 30 minutes, we saw two goals being scored in just 5 minutes as Igor Angulo, once again, scored a goal for Mumbai City FC.

It was just 3 minutes after the last goal that Igor Angulo scored a goal from just the edge of the box in the 36th minute of the match. It was a great through ball from Raynier Fernandes and Angulo made no mistake.

After that, Raynier too got an opportunity to score the 3rd goal for Mumbai as he was one alone infront of FC Goa goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh, but the ball hit the crossbar and was denied.

The first half ended that like that Mumbai City FC and FC Goa went inside the tunnel with the former with 2-0 goals lead.

While most of the times the other team start making attacks in the 2nd half. It was a different scenario here as Mumbai City FC kept pressing FC Goa, like first time.

However, this time, the FC Goa defence looked strong and it was difficult to score goals. However, at the 76th minute, Ygor Catatau scored the third goal for Mumbai, after just coming on as a substitute.

Ygor Catatau tucked in a free-kick from Ahmed Jahouh at the back of the net. FC Goa tried hard to comeback from here, but it was always supposed to be difficult. 

And at the end, Mumbai City FC beat FC Goa by 3-0 goals. As a result, Mumbai is now at the top of the table.
