ISL 2021-22 | Nerijus Valskis twice on target as Jamshedpur FC beat FC Goa

Jamshedpur FC recorded a stunning victory over the hosts FC Goa in match number 8 of the Indian Super League 2021-2022 season. 

Jamshedpur FC scored 3 goals, while FC Goa could only manage to score a consolation goal. Nerijus Valskis scored a brace, while Jordan Murray scores the 3rd goal for Jamshedpur FC. Airam Cabrera scored the only goal for FC Goa.

It was end of to end football for the first 10 minutes or so. Jamshedpur FC could have taken the at the 8th minute of the match when Komal Thatal's cross was tucked behind the net by Jitendra Singh, but the linesman raised his flag for offside.

After which, Jamshedpur did take control of the match, creating number of chances, but didn't manage to score through. FC Goa also made comeback, making it sure that both teams head inside the tunnel with no team having an advantage.

The deadlock was broken at the 51st minute of the game, when Nerijus Valskis gave Jamshedpur the lead. It was a cross to Greg Stewart, who then taps it toward Nerijus Valskis, who then drill the ball into the back of the net.

Jamshedpur FC players did lost the focus after the first goal, however, FC Goa couldn't take advantage of that, while it was again Nerijus Valskis who gave Jamshedpur FC another goal to celebrate.

It was once again Greg Stewart and Valskis combining for the goal. Valskis takes a header of a free kick from Stewart, to beat the defender and then turns and jumps for another header to beat the goalkeeper this time to make it 2 goals for Jamshedpur.

FC Goa made loads of substitution following that in the lookout for Goals. FC Goa took control of the match after that. They had multiple chances, but Jamshedpur defence was rock solid to not allow the Goa forwards get inside their D-Box.

It was once again Jamshedpur FC scoring the goal against the run of play. Jordan Murray was the man behind it now. A long ball from Jamshedpur FC defence and Jordan Murray collects it inside the box and wrestle pas Aiban Dohling to make it 3-0 for Jamshedpur.

FC Goa finally manage to score a goal, but it was just a consolation goal only. It was at the 86th minute mark when Jorge Ortiz puts in a cross inside the box, and Airam Cabrera takes a brilliant first-touch and then takes a shot and gets the ball behind the net.

Goa tried their best throughout the match to cut Jamshedpur's goal deficit, but either the Goa players' finishing was not upto the mark, or Jamshedpur FC defence was rock solid. The match ended 3-1 in favour of Jamshedpur.

As a result of which, Jamshedpur FC is now at the top of the table with 4 points of 2 matches, while Goa goes down to the bottom place.
