Indian all-rounder Axar Patel was very good at studies. He wished to progress in academies and even pursued Mechanical Engineering.
However, his family persuaded him to become a cricketer. Patel is the captain of the Gujarat cricket team now.

Namibian player Rudie van Vuuren featured in the 2003 World Cup. He even played rugby and represented his country in that sport.

As per many facts websites, Indian female cricketer Smriti Mandhana wanted to take science. However, her family instructed her to take commerce.

Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara completed his Masters of Law from University of Colombo. He also received an award for being the best all-round student in school days.
Sangakkara will go down as one of the best Sri Lankan batsmen of all time. The left-handed batsman played for SRH, DC, and KXIP in the IPL.

Former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath completed his B.E. He specialized in Instrumentation Technology from SJCE, Mysuru.

Shikha Pandey has a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering to her name. She also had an excellent record in school.
