ODI cricket is one of the most-followed formats of the sports. In this form of the game, there are two teams in a match, and each side gets a maximum of 50 overs to bat. The team with the most number of runs after the match emerges as the winner. Generally, a score between 250 and 300 is considered decent while batting first in ODI cricket.

However, of late, the trend has changed. Now teams look to score around 350 runs in the first innings because the teams have chased 300+ scores comfortably. The only Indian batter in this list who made his ODI cricket debut before the year 2000 is Virender Sehwag. The former Indian batter played 241 matches, aggregating 7,995 runs at a strike rate of close to 105. He is the only player on this list to have scored a double hundred in ODIs.
