Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League. So far, the outfit based out of Chennai has won four trophies, including the one recently in 2021. One of CSK's main strengths has been a good bowling line-up over the years. However, there are a few players who did not get many opportunities. Some were not able to make an impression in the chances that they got. In this article, we take a look at the list of five players who have taken exactly 1 wicket for CSK so far in the history of IPL.

Be it due to lack of chances or because of fewer effective deliveries bowled to the batsmen, a few CSK players have ended picking just one wicket in the yellow jersey. We take a look at five such players in this article.

1) Ankit Rajpoot - IPL 2013

Ankit Rajpoot is one of the players who have taken exactly 1 wicket for CSK so far in the history of IPL. Not many know that the Uttar Pradesh pacer was once part of the unit. Ankit, who also has a five-wicket haul to his name in the tournament, picked only one scalp for CSK. It was the wicket of Ricky Ponting against Mumbai Indians in 2013.

2) Ben Laughlin - IPL 2013

Ben Laughlin is a popular name in the Australian cricket circle, especially in the T20 format. He was great in the BBL, and hence, CSK hired him for IPL 2013. His only wicket for the franchise in IPL was against Mumbai Indians. It was Ambati Rayudu who was Ben's victim and Dirk Nannes had helped the Aussie complete the wicket by taking the catch.

3) Ronit More - IPL 2015

Ronit More is one of the players who have taken exactly 1 wicket for CSK so far in the history of IPL. The Karnataka player was one of the many pacers who was part of CSK during that time. Ronit played a total of two games for CSK in IPL. While the first one was opposite KKR, the next was against SRH. In the encounter against KKR, the right-arm pacer took the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. That happens to be his only wicket in the competition.

4) John Hastings - IPL 2014

John Hastings represented Australia in all three formats of the game. In 2017, he announced his retirement due to a lung condition. The Aussie played for CSK in the IPL. In the 2014 encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Hastings was part of the playing XI. He bowled three overs in that game and took the important wicket of David Warner. Warner had made 90 runs till then and hence, his wicket was important. However, CSK still lost that encounter.

5) S Vidyut - IPL 2008

Sivaramakrishnan Vidyut is a Tamil Nadu player who played nine games for Chennai Super Kings. Although he is known more as a batsman, he also bowled left-arm spin often. For CSK, he picked up exactly one wicket. In the game against Rajasthan Royals in 2008, he collected the wicket of Swapnil Asnodkar. Makhaya Ntini took the catch to complete the wicket.
