5 players who were match-winners for CSK and will now play in Legends League Cricket


Legends League Cricket 2022 will begin on January 20 in Oman. The first-ever edition of the unique competition featuring retired cricketers will have three star-studded teams competing against each other for the coveted title. The three teams participating in the competition are India Maharajas, Asia Lions and World Giants.

As the names suggest, the India Maharajas squad will comprise Indian players, the Asia Lions will have players from Asian countries excluding India, while the World Giants will feature players from outside Asia. Some of the biggest names of world cricket will participate in this competition, and the list includes five such players who were once match-winners for the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL.

1. Muttiah Muralitharan - Will play for Asia Lions in Legends League Cricket

Former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan played a vital role in the Chennai Super Kings' success during the initial IPL seasons. Muralitharan will turn up for the Asia Lions in the upcoming competition.

2. Imran Tahir - Will play for World Giants in Legends League Cricket

Imran Tahir is one of the few bowlers to have won the Purple Cap while playing for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL. The leg-spinner will be in action, playing for the World Giants in the inaugural LLC tournament.

3. Albie Morkel

Albie Morkel has a special place in the hearts of the Chennai Super Kings fans because he was a complete all-rounder for CSK that every team desires to have. The former South African all-rounder will play alongside his compatriot Tahir for the World Giants team.

4. Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh will represent the India Maharajas squad in the Legends League Cricket. The former Indian off-spin bowler retired from all forms of cricket in December and will be in action from January 20 onwards.

5. Subramaniam Badrinath

Former CSK middle-order batter Subramaniam Badrinath will also don the India Maharajas jersey in the upcoming mega event. Badrinath won multiple IPL and Champions League T20 titles with the Chennai Super Kings back when he was active in the IPL.
