The Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the most popular IPL franchises. The Bangalore-based franchise joined the Indian Premier League in 2008. They have been a part of every IPL season conducted so far. However, RCB has never been able to capture the title.

Even in the Champions League T20, the Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to qualify for the final, but they lost in the summit clash. Some big names like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers play for this franchise. They have an incredible fan following. It is not that RCB has always struggled. There are seven teams in league cricket history which RCB has faced and always won against them. Here are those seven teams.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Pune Warriors India 5 times in 5 matches

Pune Warriors India were the first franchise to represent Pune city in the IPL. Unfortunately, the team could not qualify for the playoffs even once in the three seasons they played.

The RCB franchise loved to play against the Pune Warriors. RCB and PWI clashed five times in the Indian Premier League, with the Warriors losing on all occasions.

2. Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kochi Tuskers Kerala twice in 2 matches

Another team that joined the IPL in 2011, Kochi Tuskers Kerala could never beat the Royal Challengers. KTK was the first team against whom RCB wore the green jersey.

Chris Gayle smashed 37 runs in an over bowled by Prasanth Parameswaran in that game. RCB maintained a 100% win record against Kochi.

3. Otago Volts

Otago Volts is a team from New Zealand. The Otago-based team qualified for the Champions League T20 in the year 2009, where they clashed for the only time.

Jacques Kallis' half-century helped RCB post a 188-run total on the board. In reply, Otago managed only 108 runs, with Kallis taking three wickets with the ball.

4. Guyana

Another opponent from the Champions League T20 is West Indies' team Guyana. RCB crossed swords with Guyana in the 2010 edition of the Champions League T20.

Jacques Kallis starred for the team once again as he took three wickets and scored 43 runs. Guyana managed 103 runs in the first innings, which RCB chased down easily.

5. Highveld Lions

South African T20 club Highveld Lions battled the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2010 CLT20. Although the game happened in South Africa, RCB beat the Lions.

The home club batted first and scored 159 runs on the board. Chasing 160 to win, RCB won the game by six wickets, thanks to Virat Kohli's unbeaten 29-ball 49.

6. Royal Challengers Bangalore never lost to New South Wales

RCB battled the New South Wales in the semifinal of the 2011 Champions League T20. David Warner scored a hundred for NSW and took them to 203/2 in the first innings.

Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli then blew away the NSW bowling attack. Although Pat Cummins took a 4-wicket haul, Kohli's heroics ensured RCB won by six wickets.

7. Somerset

Somerset is an English county. The English teams were not so successful in the Champions League T20 competition, but Somerset was an exception. Somerset and RCB battled in the 2011 CLT20.

Batting first, RCB scored 206/6 in 20 overs, riding on Chris Gayle's 86-run knock. Daniel Vettori and Sreenath Aravind did a fantastic job with the ball as RCB won comfortably by 51 runs.
