Best XI of cricketers CSK signed but did not play a single game for them
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the four-time champions of the Indian Premier League. They have qualified for the second round in 11 out of the 12 seasons they have participated in. The Super Kings have been home to the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson and several others.
However, there have been some players who have been part of the CSK squad at some point in the last 14 years, but they never played a game for CSK.
Openers - C Hari Nishaanth and Cheteshwar Pujara
Two players who won IPL 2021 with Chennai Super Kings will open the innings together for this team. C Hari Nishaanth is a very talented opener from Tamil Nadu, while Cheteshwar Pujara has achieved a lot of success in the Test format for India.
Middle Order - Hemang Badani and Kuthethurshri Vasudevadas
The middle-order will comprise two more players who won the trophy with CSK but never played a match for the franchise are Hemang Badani and K Vasudevadas. They are middle-order batters, while Badani played international cricket for India, Vasudevadas played domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu. Badani was in CSK's team in 2010, while Vasudevadas was in the squad a year later.
All Rounders - Thisara Perera, Irfan Pathan and Krishnappa Gowtham
Chennai Super Kings love all-rounders. They have signed some of the best all-rounders in the tournament, but the trio of Sri Lanka's 2014 T20 World Cup hero Thisara Perera, India's 2007 T20 World Cup hero Irfan Pathan and most expensive uncapped signing Krishnappa Gowtham never got a chance to play for the team.
Bowlers - Matt Henry, Andrew Tye, K Bhagath Varma and R Sai Kishore
The quartet of bowlers comprises New Zealand's fast bowler Matt Henry, IPL 2018 Purple Cap winner Andrew Tye, off-spinner K Bhagath Varma and left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore. Varma and Kishore won IPL 2021 with CSK, while Tye and Henry warmed the benches for CSK in 2015 and 2014, respectively.
