A Playing XI Comprising Tamil Nadu Cricketers Who Were Part Of IPL 2020

Tamil Nadu Cricket Team is one of the dominant sides in the domestic circuit right now. Although they have fallen short of the trophy in recent times, the effort and performances have been top class. In terms of representation to the Indian Team as well, Tamil Nadu stands in the uppermost tier.

IPL 2020 was a good tournament for the Tamil Nadu cricketers. There were many players such as Washington Sundar and T Natarajan who did well for their respective franchises. Ravichandran Ashwin impressed with the ball and also reached the final of the tournament. A few unlucky ones, however, did not get sufficient chances in UAE.

Including all of them, in this article, we have compiled a playing XI of Tamil Nadu boys who were part of IPL 2020.

Openers: N Jagadeesan and M Vijay

The CSK duo would be the openers for this playing XI. Vijay played the first few games but looked horribly out of form. He was soon replaced, and Vijay did not get another chance in the tournament.

N Jagadeesan had been in CSK for a while, and it was only in 2020 that he got a sighter. He did well in the game against RCB but got out quickly in other games. However, for the viewers, N Jagadeesan showcased that he had promise in him. He is a wicket-keeper and could be a contender in the future editions for CSK.

Middle-Order: Washington Sundar, Dinesh Karthik (WK), and Vijay Shankar

Washington Sundar showed everyone why he is rated so highly in the T20 format. On multiple occasions, Washi pulled off heroic overs in the power play and helped RCB start on a good note. He even collected some big wickets whenever he came on. The batting could have been better, but he is still young and has a long way to travel.

Dinesh Karthik quit captaincy midway through the tournament. His batting form was also mediocre. The KKR management also did not perform well with utilizing him at his preferred position. DK still has a few years to go, and relocating elsewhere could be a good option.

Injuries troubled Vijay Shankar in IPL 2020. Had he been fit, he could have contributed well to SRH. Nevertheless, there are expectations from him in future editions.

Bowlers: Ravichandran Ashwin, Murugan Ashwin, Manimaran Siddharth, R Sai Kishore, Varun CV, and T Natarajan

If this XI plays at Chepauk, it could be firecrackers! The spin department is enormous and with envious depth. Of course, the batting would be light, but it's better to focus on the strengths.

At No.6, we have Ravichandran Ashwin. Ash is more than capable of batting in this slot and would be the leader of the bowling unit. In IPL 2020, he was good and was one of the architects of Delhi's runners-up campaign.

After Ash, Murugan Ashwin comes into the line-up. He did well for KXIP in quite a few games. He would be an important part of this XI. This XI also has T Natarajan and Varun CV, both of whom had a terrific IPL 2020. While Nattu is in his dream sojourn in Australia, Varun CV is injured, but well in the plans of the national team.

The line-up also contains M Siddharth and R Sai Kishore as well. Both were part of IPL 2020 but did not get a game. While Siddharth was in the KKR squad, Sai was in CSK. They will be hopeful of an opportunity next season.
