A Strong Combined Playing XI Of Popular Domestic T20 Teams That Wear Yellow Jersey

Dhoni and Malik

With the advent of the Indian Premier League, we now have almost every cricketing nation having a franchise-based league of its own. Hence, there are a few similarities that are often noticeable between the two leagues. Jerseys of teams are also one aspect that could find repetition. In this article, we discuss teams that wear yellow jersey.

The Yellow coloured jersey is quite famous in cricket. Australia, the most successful squad in International cricket, dons a jersey with the yellow hue. Many T20 franchises also wear yellow jersey. Here, we compile a combined playing XI of teams that wear the yellow jersey. We have only considered teams from prominent leagues.

Teams Considered: Chennai Super Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Yorkshire Vikings and St Lucia Zouks

Openers For This XI Of Teams That Wear Yellow Jersey: Faf du Plessis and Jonny Bairstow

Faf du Plessis will open the batting for this XI. While Faf is one of the main batsmen for Chennai Super Kings in IPL, Faf also represents the St Lucia Zouks, a CPL team that dons the yellow jersey. The South African is a proper T20 top-order batsman and will be an invaluable inclusion.

Jonny Bairstow plays for the Yorkshire Vikings in England's Vitality Blast. He is one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen's in T20 cricket at the moment. Hence, the Englishman will walk alongside Faf as the openers for this XI.

Middle-Order: Dawid Malan, Shoaib Malik, and MS Dhoni (C&WK)

It will be an experienced middle-order for this XI of teams that wear the yellow jersey. At No.3, we have Dawid Malan, who represents Yorkshire in England's T20 league. After playing several games in domestic competitions, he made it to the English T20I Team. Since then, Malan has been a top T20 batsman.

Shoaib Malik and MS Dhoni will form the core of this middle-order. Shoaib plays for Peshawar and although he is well above 30, he is still delivering with those cameos and match-winning innings. MS Dhoni, as we all know, is the best possible captain and finisher that this XI can have.

All-Rounders For This XI Of Teams That Wear Yellow Jersey: Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran and Dwayne Bravo

It will be CSK's all-rounders' department that will take the center stage for this XI of teams that wear the yellow jersey, too. CSK had a terrific start to their IPL 2021 campaign, thanks to their depth in both departments of the game. That was possible mainly because of their all-rounders who stepped up and contributed to both the batting and the bowling units. We did not see a better all-rounders' group from the other teams that fulfil the criteria and hence, the CSK trio will be part of this XI.

Bowlers: Adil Rashid, Deepak Chahar and Wahab Riaz

Adil Rashid is one of the highest-ranked T20I bowlers at the moment. Even when he visited India for a series recently, the leggie was in good form. The Yorkshire cricketer will lead the spin attack for this XI.

Deepak Chahar is a good T20 power play bowler and will do the same task for this XI as he does for CSK. A natural swinger of the ball, Chahar is known to pick wickets upfront.

Wahab Riaz is an experienced customer when it comes to limited-overs cricket. Although he is above 30, he still has variations and pace to surprise batsmen even now.
