Best XI of players who have been a part of both CSK and RCB

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been one of the most consistent franchises in T20 cricket history. They qualified for the playoffs in each of their first ten IPL seasons. Although Chennai received a temporary suspension in 2015, they returned in grand fashion by winning the championship in 2018.

On the other side, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have had one of the most fiery lineups. Still, RCB have not been able to win the IPL trophy even once. There have been quite a few players who have represented both CSK and RCB in IPL history. Here's a best XI featuring those players.

Openers - Brendon McCullum and Shane Watson

Brendon McCullum played a huge role in CSK's success. He played 28 matches for the Super Kings, scoring 841 runs at a strike rate of 137.19. Although he was not so successful at RCB, McCullum still makes the cut.

Shane Watson will open the innings for this team with McCullum. Watson was at his best with the ball for RCB, while he played as a pure batsman for CSK, achieving great success in both roles.

Middle Order - Parthiv Patel (wk), Robin Uthappa, Subramaniam Badrinath, and Kedar Jadhav

Parthiv Patel will keep the wickets for this team. He won the championship with the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2010, while he retired at RCB in 2020. Robin Uthappa is the newest member of CSK squad. He played an integral role in RCB's journey to the Top 4 in 2009 and 2010.

Subramaniam Badrinath became a well-known batsman during his CSK stint. Unfortunately, RCB never gave him a game despite signing him in 2015. Kedar Jadhav had his best IPL season with RCB in 2017. He won the first match for CSK in 2018 despite getting injured.

All-rounders - Chris Morris and Albie Morkel

The South African duo of Chris Morris and Albie Morkel will be the two all-rounders of this XI. Morris played IPL 2020 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, while CSK was the first team to sign him. He did a good job for both franchises.

Albie Morkel was a match-winner for the Chennai Super Kings during the initial seasons. He had famously won a game for CSK against RCB. Soon, Morkel joined RCB, but he was not so successful there.

Bowlers - Karn Sharma, Tim Southee, and Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan, the legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner, will lead the spin attack of this playing XI. Muralitharan began his IPL career at CSK before he moved to KTK and then to RCB. Karn Sharma will back Muralitharan in the spin department. Karn was a part of the RCB team that reached the final in 2009. Nine years later, he won the championship with CSK.

Tim Southee will lead the pace attack of this team. Southee will have the back of Morris, Morkel, and Watson. Southee made an impressive debut for CSK, defending nine runs off the final over. However, he was not good with the ball when donned the RCB jersey. Thus, the following is the best XI comprising players who have been a part of CSK and RCB.

Strongest XI of players who were signed by CSK and RCB:

Brendon McCullum, Shane Watson, Parthiv Patel (wk), Robin Uthappa, Subramaniam Badrinath, Kedar Jadhav, Chris Morris, Albie Morkel, Tim Southee, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Karn Sharma.
