Chennai Super Kings are former 3-time IPL winners and they have also won the Champions League T20 in the past. It is noteworthy that all of these big wins came under the leadership of MS Dhoni, who had the back of Suresh Raina as the vice-captain of the squad.

Unfortunately, for the first time in IPL history, Mr. IPL Suresh Raina will miss a full season owing to personal reasons. While some reports have indicated that the southpaw may return to the UAE again and play a few matches in IPL 2020. However, the possibility of seeing Raina don the yellow jersey in IPL this year remains minimal.

Chennai Super Kings have hinted that they do not want to sign a replacement for Suresh Raina as he will be back for them in IPL 2021. However, the question still remains who will support MS Dhoni in the leadership group. Also, if Dhoni decides to skip a game or two, who will lead Chennai Super Kings in his absence.

The Chennai-based franchise had some interesting options in their hands. They have the former West Indies cricket team captain DJ Bravo, former Australia captain Shane Watson, former South African skipper Faf du Plessis, and even a few Indian players like Murali Vijay and Harbhajan Singh have captained IPL teams in the past.

A curious fan asked the same question to CSK as to who is their vice-captain for IPL 2020. Chennai gave a savage reply to him, saying:

"Wise captain irukke bayam yen?" - Translates to: "Why fear when the wise captain is here".

The latest reports have also indicated that the members of the CSK group who tested positive for Coronavirus have recovered now. Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President, announced that the IPL schedule will be out tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if MI vs. CSK opens the tournament.
