Nasser Hussain's 3 year old tweet goes viral after Rohit Sharma becomes No.1 Indian batsman in Tests

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has become the talk of the town after the Indian opener reached the number five position in ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen earlier today. The right-handed batsman is now only behind Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith on the batting charts now.

Sharma has made a name for himself with his improved technique in the red-ball arena. A few years ago, many fans deemed him as a white-ball specialist. However, now he has been scoring big in the longest format of the game.

Back when some fans doubted the abilities of Rohit Sharma, former England cricket team captain Nasser Hussain backed him. Here’s what he had tweeted three years ago:

“If Rohit Sharma is not a test match batsman then I have been watching a different Rohit Sharma over the last 5 years !! You can’t be as talented as Rohit Sharma and not crack test cricket .. India needs to stick with him !! Don’t worry about the stats use your eyes and gut feeling..”

You can check that tweet here and now that Rohit Sharma has achieved so much success in the red-ball arena, Hussain’s three year old tweet has been going viral.

Rohit Sharma will be in action against England from tomorrow onwards

The Hitman will be in action once again from tomorrow onwards when the Indian cricket team locks horns with England in the fourth Test match of the ICC World Test Championship series.

Rohit Sharma has been excellent for Team India in this series so far. Looking at his technique, one can say how much he has improved. A big knock from Rohit can give India an upper hand in the match.

Also, if the Indian cricket team manages to defeat England, they will take an unassailable lead of 2-1 in the 5-Test series, with just one Test remaining after that.
