Watch: New CSK recruit Harishankar Reddy bowls a dream delivery to MS Dhoni
The Chennai Super Kings did not have an eventful season in 2020. They finished seventh after recording only six wins in the league phase. Ahead of the 2021 season, the Super Kings have added some exciting talents to their squad.
One of the new signings is Andhra Pradesh’s medium-fast bowler Harishankar Reddy. The uncapped pacer has joined the Chennai Super Kings practice sessions before IPL 2021. MS Dhoni has also begun his practice.
In a video shared by Harishankar on his Instagram story today, the 22-year-old can be seen uprooting MS Dhoni’s leg stump with a dream delivery. Here is the clip of Dhoni getting clean bowled by a delivery from Reddy.

Harishankar Reddy is still a young player, but it seems like he can be a big name in the future. The Chennai Super Kings have given the perfect platform to Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur over the last few seasons.
Reddy has not first-class cricket yet. He has played white-ball cricket only. In his first-ever Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign, Harishankar picked up eight wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 5.03.
Talking about his numbers in the shortest format, Harishankar Reddy has picked up 19 wickets in 13 matches at a strike rate of 13.8. He already has one four-wicket haul to his name, highlighting his wicket-taking skills with the white ball.
Since the Chennai Super Kings have some big names in their pace attack, it seems unlikely that Reddy will get a chance in the playing XI in the first match against the Delhi Capitals. However, if there is a need, CSK would definitely try him later in the season.
With a mega-auction set to happen before IPL 2022, Harishankar Reddy will have a chance of impressing everyone with his bowling this season, and thereby ensuring that multiple franchises have an interest in him at the auction.
