Matthew Cross’ comment from behind the stumps during the New Zealand vs Scotland match has been going viral on social media. The match between New Zealand and Scotland happened in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 earlier today, with the Dubai International Cricket Stadium playing host to that game.
The match was expected to be a one-sided one in the favor of the New Zealand cricket team. However, many fans in India were hoping that the Scotland cricket team defeats the Blackcaps so that the chances of the Indian cricket team’s semi final qualification increase.
Unfortunately for the Indian cricket team fans, Scotland lost to New Zealand by 16 runs. The Scots gave a fight. However, the 173-run target was too big for them.
During the first innings of the New Zealand cricket team, Martin Guptill set a new record for the highest individual score in T20I matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and helped the Kiwis score 172 runs in their 20 overs.

After the victory against Scotland, Kane Williamson, the captain of the New Zealand cricket team was asked to comment on the upcoming match against Afghanistan which could be a virtual quarterfinal. To that Williamson replied:
“Every game is valuable - we know that for us, we have to try and play as best as we can. We have a game before that which is very important and it's the only game that matters for now. If we continue to play good cricket it will give us a chance.”
