Best XI of players who have been a part of both KKR and CSK

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have a glorious IPL history. The two franchises have won total five IPL trophies. In fact, CSK and KKR squared off in the summit clash of the 2012 season, where the Knight Riders clinched a close victory in a high-scoring contest.

Every young cricketer dreams of being a part of either CSK or KKR because the franchises have a massive fanbase. Also, MS Dhoni is the captain of CSK, while Shahrukh Khan is the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders. So far, quite a few cricketers have got the honor of representing both CSK and KKR, here's a best XI featuring those players.

Openers - Brendon McCullum (c) and Robin Uthappa

Former Kiwi opener Brendon McCullum will be the captain of this unique playing XI. McCullum had set the tone for the IPL with a brilliant 158* against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first-ever IPL match. Later in his career, McCullum captained KKR and even played a few seasons for the Chennai Super Kings.

Robin Uthappa will be the opening partner of McCullum. Uthappa is the only player in IPL history to win the Orange Cap and the IPL title in the same season. He achieved this feat with Kolkata Knight Riders during the seventh IPL season. Uthappa will ply his trade with Chennai this year.

Middle-order - Cheteshwar Pujara, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), and David Hussey

Cheteshwar Pujara is the newest member of CSK squad. Pujara had played ten IPL matches for the Knight Riders, where he aggregated 122 runs at an average of 30.50. It will be exciting to see how Pujara performs for CSK. Wriddhiman Saha started his journey with KKR before moving to CSK. Currently, he is a match-winner for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Former Australian all-rounder David Hussey is another player who played for KKR in the initial seasons. Hussey had been in the news for his unbelievable catch during his stint with KKR. In 2014, CSK selected him as DJ Bravo's replacement.

All-rounders - Jason Holder and Pawan Negi

The Chennai Super Kings was the first team to sign Barbados all-rounder Jason Holder. Unfortunately, the Caribbean all-rounder could not make the most out of the opportunities he got at CSK. In 2016, he became a part of KKR. Holder's performances, especially his economy rate, improved when playing for KKR.

Pawan Negi broke into the Indian cricket team after impressing during his stint with CSK. Negi would contribute with the bat and ball when wearing the yellow jersey. This year, Negi will play his first season for KKR.

Bowlers - Lakshmipathy Balaji, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, and John Hastings

Lakshmipathy Balaji was an integral part of Chennai and Kolkata when the two teams became IPL champions. Balaji even had coaching stints with the two franchises. Piyush Chawla was a match-winner for the Knight Riders. Unfortunately, he could not replicate the same performances for CSK.

Harbhajan Singh did an excellent job for Chennai in the two seasons he played for them. In IPL 2021, Harbhajan will don the KKR jersey for the first time. John Hastings will be the fourth overseas player of this team. Hastings played for CSK in 2014 and 2015 before switching to the Knight Riders.
