Watch: MS Dhoni hits a no-look six in the training nets
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has kicked off his training sessions before IPL 2021 in Chennai. The legendary wicket-keeper batsman will not play a single home match this year, but he will be keen to make his mark in what could be his final IPL season.
Dhoni could not connect the ball to perfection in the previous IPL season. The fans saw how he struggled to middle the ball, and in one of the matches, the weather conditions seemingly got the better of Dhoni.
Nevertheless, Thala is back, and in the training nets, he has been middling the ball well. Recently, a video from the Chennai Super Kings practice session surfaced online, where Dhoni can be seen hitting some big shots off the spin bowlers.
One of those shots was a perfect no look six. It was one of the best shots off MS Dhoni’s bat in the brief clip. You can watch that video here.

MS Dhoni will look forward to leading the Chennai Super Kings from the front in IPL 2021. The right-handed batsman will have the support of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Cheteshwar Pujara, Robin Uthappa, Narayan Jagadeesan, and C Hari Nishaanth in the batting unit.
Even the team’s newest addition Krishnappa Gowtham could form a solid partnership with Dhoni in the finishers’ department. Gowtham had done a phenomenal job as the finisher for the Rajasthan Royals before. The Chennai Super Kings offered him a massive contract at IPL Auction 2021. It will be interesting to see if Gowtham could bat well for CSK.
As far as MS Dhoni is concerned, it will be exciting to see where Thala bats in the batting order. Last year, he batted very low, and many fans felt he could have done better if he came higher to bat. Nevertheless, Dhoni has been selfless and taken the most difficult position in the lineup always in his career.
