"He has 5-6 years of cricket left in him"- Ravi Shastri suggests a solution for 'overcooked' Virat Kohli to regain his form

Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has suggested a solution for Virat Kohli to regain his lost touch. Kohli is one of the best batters in the world at the moment, but he has not scored a single century in the last two and a half years.

His previous ton came against the Bangladesh cricket team in a day/night Test match at Eden Gardens in 2019. Since then, he has played 100 matches but not touched the three-figure mark even once.

Some fans feel that the luck factor has not favoured Kohli in his recent matches. He is yet to score a 50 in IPL 2022, but in some matches, he got out in an unlucky manner. Speaking about the match that happened last night, Virat lost his wicket on the first ball while trying to hit a ball from Dushmantha Chameera in the backward point region.

Ravi Shastri felt that the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter needs a break from cricket to regain his focus. He mentioned that he could take a break from the sport after the IPL and rejuvenate himself ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Whether it is after England or before England: Ravi Shastri wants Virat Kohli to take a break

Living in the bio-bubbles has been very tough for cricketers. One player whose numbers have gone down since the introduction of bio-bubbles is Kohli. Commenting on what Kohli must do to improve his performance, Ravi Shastri told Star Sports after RCB vs LSG:

“Virat Kohli is overcooked. If anyone needs a break, it's him. Whether it's 2 months or a month-and-a-half, whether it's after England or before England. He needs a break because he has got 6-7 years of cricket left in him and you don't want to lose that with a fried brain.”
