Salaries of IPL Cricketers Playing In The Pakistan Super League (PSL)

 

The Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) are two of the most popular T20 competitions in the world. While the star power and the money involved in IPL is unmatched, PSL also has its own unique things. In fact, some big names have participated in the PSL over the last few years.

Many cricket fans would know that PSL 2021 began earlier this year in Pakistan. However, the organizers had to postpone the competition because of COVID-19 outbreak in the bio-bubble. Ten IPL-bound players were also a part of the PSL this year. In this listicle today, we will glance at the PSL salaries of those ten IPL cricketers.

1. Rashid Khan is one of the most expensive players in PSL - USD 170,000 (Lahore Qalandars) and earns 9 crores in IPL

Afghanistan's leg-spin bowler Rashid Khan has been a match-winner for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. He has a salary of 9 crore INR in the IPL.

Khan was one of the most expensive players in the PSL 2021 Draft. He was in the Platinum category, and the Lahore Qalandars signed him for USD 170,000, which is approximately INR 1.25 crore. Khan missed some matches dur to national duty, and Sandeep Lamichhane replaced him.

2. Chris Lynn - USD 170,000 (Multan Sultans)

Chris Lynn was a star for the Kolkata Knight Riders team in IPL from the 2014 season to the 2019 season. In 2020, the Mumbai Indians acquired his services for INR 2 crore.

Lynn was in the Platinum category of PSL 2021 Draft earlier this year. The Multan Sultans signed him up for USD 170,000 which is 75 lakhs INR lesser than his IPL salary.

3. David Miller - USD 130,000 (Peshawar Zalmi)

South African star David Miller was once the captain of the Punjab Kings in the IPL. Right now, he is with the Rajasthan Royals, who paid him 75 lakh INR in the previous season.

Interestingly, Peshawar Zalmi offered Miller a better deal in the PSL 2021 Draft. Miller earned a contract worth USD 130,000, which is around 95 lakh INR for the 2021 season. It is noteworthy that Miller could not play a few matches for Peshawar, and Waqar Salamkheil replaced him. So, it is not clear how much Peshawar paid to him.

4. Former IPL Orange Cap winner Chris Gayle has a contract of USD 130,000 in PSL (Quetta Gladiators)

Chris Gayle is popularly known as The Universe Boss of T20 cricket. The southpaw plays for the Punjab Kings in IPL and earns 2 crore INR per season.

Gayle featured in the Platinum category of the PSL 2021 Draft, where the Quetta Gladiators snapped him up for USD 130,000. Converting it into INR, Gayle's earning is around 95 lakh. Like Miller, Gayle missed a few matches of PSL, with Faf du Plessis being his replacement. It is unclear how much both du Plessis and Gayle will earn.

5. Ben Cutting - USD 85,000 (Quetta Gladiators)

Ben Cutting was one of the few overseas stars retained ahead of PSL 2021 Draft. The Quetta Gladiators retained him for USD 85,000, which is approximately 62.37 lakh INR.

The Australian all-rounder will return to the IPL this year for the first time since 2019. Cutting received a deal worth 75 lakh INR from the Kolkata Knight Riders at IPL Auction 2021.

6. Mohammad Nabi - USD 60,000 (Karachi Kings)

Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has represented SRH in IPL since 2017. He currently has a contract worth INR 1 Crore with the Orange Army.

Nabi joined the Karachi Kings under the Diamond category in PSL 2021. The all-rounder had a deal worth USD 60,000, which is approximately 44 lakh INR.

7. Daniel Christian - USD 60,000 (Karachi Kings)

The Karachi Kings signed two players in the Diamond category of PSL 2021. One was Mohammad Nabi, and the other being Australia's all-rounder Daniel Christian.

Both players received the same salary, approximately 44 lakh INR. However, Christian will earn 10 times more money in IPL 2021, as the RCB franchise spent 4.8 crore INR at the auction to gain his services.

8. Mujeeb Ur Rahman - USD 60,000 (Peshawar Zalmi)

Another PSL Diamond category player to appear on this list is Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The Afghan youngster had a contract worth USD 60,000 in the PSL.

Rahman is a leg-spinner from Afghanistan. He will share the dressing room with Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan at SRH in IPL 2021. SRH signed him for 1.50 crore INR.

9. Former IPL Purple Cap winner Imran Tahir has a contract of USD 60,000 in PSL (Multan Sultans)

Imran Tahir is a member of the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL 2021 season. The South African leggie has a salary of 1 crore INR in the league.

Speaking of PSL 2021, Tahir was a player-cum-mentor for the Multan Sultans franchise. Multan paid him USD 60,000, approximately INR 44 lakh for his services.
