Gujarat Titans set to rope in Rahmanullah Gurbaz as Jason Roy's replacement - Reports
Afghanistan cricket team’s rising star Rahmanullah Gurbaz has confirmed on his social media handle that he has been roped in by an IPL franchise. Gurbaz reposted a story which congratulated him upon his debut IPL season.
Fans have speculated after that Gurbaz will don the Gujarat Titans jersey in his maiden IPL season because the Ahmedabad-based franchise lost the services of Jason Roy. In case you didn’t know, the England cricket team opener opted out of IPL 2022 because of bio-bubble fatigue.
Here’s what Roy wrote on social media to confirm that he will not participate in IPL 2022:
"With everything going on in the world over the last 3 years, it's added up and taken a toll on me. I feel it's only right I spend some quality time with my family. As well as spending time working on myself and my game over the next couple of months leading into a busy year.”

Fans should note that Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been very impressive for Afghanistan in his short career. He has scored multiple centuries in international cricket and also played some handy knocks for the team in the shortest format of the game.
Gurbaz also has the experience of playing in other T20 leagues as he has been a part of the Pakistan Super League and the Lanka Premier League in the past. A Twitter user shared a video of how Gurbaz plays the helicopter shot similar to Dhoni. You can watch the video right here:

Gurbaz seems an excellent pick for the Gujarat Titans because he has the ability to score runs quickly at the top. It should not be a surprise if Gurbaz opens the innings for the team along with Shubman Gill in their first match against the Lucknow Super Giants.
