"Imagine sitting in a room for 4 days"- DC Co-owner Parth Jindal praises Delhi players for solid performance against PBKS despite COVID struggle

The Punjab Kings are playing their seventh match of IPL 2022 against the Delhi Capitals tonight at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Many members of the cricket universe would have an idea about the COVID-19 outbreak in the Delhi Capitals camp prior to their match against the Punjab Kings.

Star Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is in a hospital, having tested positive for the virus. Even Tim Seifert and a few other support staff members have contracted the virus.

There was a question mark over the match between the Punjab Kings and the Delhi Capitals. The other DC players returned negative in their COVID tests, allowing the fixture to progress as per the original schedule.

Parth Jindal, who is one of the co-owners of the Delhi Capitals team, was delighted with the way his players showed commitment on the field despite the COVID-19 outbreak in the camp. Here’s what he wrote on his official Twitter handle:

“Imagine sitting in a room for 4 days, finding out that a team mate you had dinner with has Covid today, imagine being told that you still have to go and play the biggest tournament in the world and then imagine playing and having the opposition at 92 for 8 this is @DelhiCapitals.”

Parth Jindal saluted all the Delhi Capitals players for their performance

The Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first. They picked up wickets at regular intervals and bowled the Punjab Kings out for just 112 runs. In the run-chase, both Prithvi Shaw and David Warner have destroyed the Punjab Kings bowling attack.

Fans should note that the Delhi Capitals players underwent multiple COVID-19 tests in the last few days. Also, they would not have gotten enough practice besides making some last-minute changes to the playing XI. So DC deserve all the praise for their show against PBKS.
