The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League is at its peak as fans witness close matches every day, the last being Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by one run. However, Robin Uthappa is yet to play a game this year.

This year's Indian Premier League has been no different to last year as the franchises have been forced to play in neutral venues due to COVID-19 just like last year in UAE, though this year India.

And as a result of being part of the bio-secure bubble, many foreign players have opted themselves out of the Indian Premier League 2021 season. And of all, Rajasthan Royals have hit hard due to player availability.
In the current scenario, Rajasthan Royals only have four foreign players in their squad, and those are David Miller, Jos Buttler, Mustafizur Rahman, and Chris Morris.

And as per the latest update on SportsTiger.com, Rajasthan Royals management has requested Chennai Super Kings to send Robin Uthappa on loan to the Rajasthan-based franchise.

All you need to know about Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa was part of the Rajasthan Royals squad for the 2020 Indian Premier League season but didn't feature much for the Rajasthan side and thus was traded to Chennai Super Kings before the Indian Premier League 2021 season.

The Karnataka-born player has not yet featured for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing season, and thus Rajasthan Royals would like the opportunity to bring back their former player on loan from the Chennai-based side.
Robin Uthappa has also featured for the Indian National Cricket Team in the One Day International and T20 International format.

Before joining Rajasthan Royals, Robin Uthappa also played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, where he was best utilized.

During the 2014 edition of the Indian Premier League, Robin Uthappa finished as the leading run-scorer for the tournament and won the orange cap, which is being awarded to the highest run-scorer, and also guided Kolkata Knight Riders to their 2nd Indian Premier League trophy win.
