Bowlers help India clinch a victory on Day 5

India's Day 5 did not start on a great note as the English openers stretched their partnership to 100. The pitch was also not offering purchase to the bowlers. However, after Shardul Thakur sent back Rory Burns with a jaffa, India was back in the game.

Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja put on a bowling partnership to squeeze England, and in the process, India also earned a few wickets. Bumrah's six-over spell was magical as he sent back Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow to two good deliveries. The likes of Jaddu and Umesh Yadav also chipped in with timely scalps.

After it was revealed that India had left out R Ashwin for the game, the talk circled around the captain's failure to pick a match-winning squad. However, Virat Kohli and his bowlers were more than happy to prove the doubters wrong as India won the game by 157 runs.

AB de Villiers pointed out that as the spectators of the game, the fans had to stop worrying about team selection and instead focus on the duel on their hands. He also congratulated Virat Kohli for his brilliant captaincy. Virat was exceptional with his bowling changes and field placements. His energy also helped the bowlers deliver their best.

ABD also said he cannot wait for the final game at Manchester. The last encounter on the tour will start on September 10th. India will be the firm favourites to win the game.
