Abhinav Mukund and Mayank Markande

Team India is one of the most successful teams in cricket history. Over the last 15 years, Team India has won the ICC T20 World Cup, the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Cricket World Cup. Also, the Indian cricket team finished runners-up in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

Over the years, Team India has given an opportunity to many cricketers to showcase their talent to the international level. However, not everyone has been able to achieve grand success like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid or Anil Kumble.

There have been many changes in the Indian squad in the last five years, with many performers from domestic arena and IPL failing to cement their spot. In this article today, we will look at the five players you may not remember played for Team India in the last five years.

1. Abhinav Mukund

Left-handed opening batter Abhinav Mukund played two Test matches for India in the year 2017. He scored 109 runs in those two games. His last Test was against Sri Lanka in Galle. Mukund now works for Star Sports as a cricket expert.

2. Mayank Markande

Leg-spinner Mayank Markande came into the spotlight after impressing for the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL. Markande made his T20I debut in a home match against Australia in 2019. However, he could not cement his spot and has not played a game since then.

3. Parthiv Patel

Parthiv Patel played five matches for India between 2016 and 2018. He has retired from all forms of cricket and joined Star Sports as a cricket expert just like Abhinav Mukund. Patel's last appearance for the Indian cricket team came in a Test match against South Africa in 2018.

4. Amit Mishra

Veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra played three matches for the country in 2016-17. He played in the home Test series against England in 2016 and then in the T20I series versus England played in 2017. Mishra lost his place in the Indian cricket team after the Bengaluru T20I match against England in 2017.

5. Siddarth Kaul

Fast bowler Siddarth Kaul made his international debut in 2018, ten years after winning ICC U-19 World Cup in 2008. Kaul played six matches for India until 2019, scalping four wickets. He is no longer a part of the Indian squad.
