6 Indian Origin Cricketers who will play for other nations in T20 World Cup 2021
ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was originally set to happen in India. However, just a few months before the tournament, the BCCI announced that the United Arab Emirates and Oman will be hosting the tourney instead of India.
There will be a total of 16 teams in the T20 World Cup 2021. All squads are out now, and the following six Indian origin cricketers will play for another nation in the tournament:
1. Ravi Rampaul
Caribbean pacer Ravi Rampaul has made a surprise return to the West Indies squad for the T20 World Cup 2021. The right-arm fast bowler performed brilliantly in the 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League. Many fans would know that Rampaul is an Indian origin cricketer. He has even played for RCB in IPL.
2. Ish Sodhi
Born in India, leg-spin bowler Ish Sodhi will be playing for New Zealand in T20 World Cup 2021. In the previous edition of the T20 World Cup, Ish bowled a game-changing spell against India. He will be keen to do the same in 2021.
3. Simi Singh
Simi Singh is the only Indian origin cricketer present in the squad of the Ireland cricket team for the T20 World Cup 2021. Singh had done well against South Africa recently, and he will be keen to perform well for his team in the global event.
4. Jatinder Singh
Jatinder Singh is another India-born cricketer like Ish Sodhi who will be playing for another nation in the T20 World Cup. Singh is one of the players named in the co-hosts Oman squad for the tournament.
5. Sandeep Goud
Medium-pace bowling all-rounder Sandeep Goud was born in Hyderabad, India. However, he will be playing for Oman in the T20 World Cup 2021. He has played 15 ODIs in his career so far.
6. Suraj Kumar
The third Oman player to feature on this list is Suraj Kumar. Suraj is a right-handed batsman born in Punjab. If Oman qualifies for Super 12 and is included in Group 2, Suraj, Sandeep and Jatinder will get the opportunity to play against the Indian cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2021.
