WATCH: Crazy celebrations in RCB dressing room after win over MI

The 39th match of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League happened yesterday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium featuring the two-time Indian Premier League winners Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Led by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, MI and RCB are among the most followed teams in the world’s grandest T20 league. 

The Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their star opener Devdutt Padikkal early, but half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli powered them to 165/6 in their 20 overs. 

Chasing 166 to win their first match of the IPL 2021 UAE leg, the Mumbai Indians started well with Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock having a fantastic opening stand. However, none of the other MI batters could support them. 

Harshal Patel picked up a hat-trick eventually, while Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed three MI batters as RCB defeated by 54 runs. Glenn Maxwell was adjudged the Player of the Match for his all-round brilliance. He even took two wickets with the ball.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell were delighted after the win against the two-time defending champions Mumbai Indians. Many fans would remember that MI had lost to RCB in the season opener of IPL 2021 as well. 

Thus, for the first time in the Indian Premier League history, the Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to record two wins against MI in the same season. After the game, the video of RCB’s celebrations in the dressing room was released. In that clip, fans could see AB de Villiers imitating Virat Kohli and Yuzvendra Chahal copying the catch taken by Glenn Maxwell.
