Watch: MS Dhoni shocks George Bailey with a breakneck stumping

India vs. Australia is known for the fierce battle between the two teams. The Men in Blue do not have a good record against The Men in Yellow in all formats, but that trend has changed in recent years. India has dominated Australia at home and even blanked them in a T20I series away from home in 2016.

Last year, Virat Kohli and co. made history by winning their first Test series on Australian soil. This year, the Indian team will visit Australia once again to play a Test series. And, this Border Gavaskar Trophy will be under the ICC World Test Championship. 

The one-man that the Indian team will miss in the white jersey is MS Dhoni. Ever since he retired from the longest format of the game, India has not found a proper wicket-keeping replacement. KL Rahul kept the wickets for a few games, and then Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant have competed for that same spot. Even KS Bharat is in the race to become the Indian Test team’s wicketkeeper. 

The reason why it is tough to find a replacement for MS Dhoni is that no other wicket-keeper batsman can keep the wickets like him. When India had toured Australia in 2016, the hosts defeated the visitors in the 5-match ODI series. Still, the Indian fans got a plethora of memories to cherish about. 

Rohit Sharma hit a daddy hundred in the first one-dayer while Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey also scored hundreds in the series. Kohli scored a century in the 3rd ODI, the same match where MS Dhoni shocked George Bailey with a breakneck stumping.

 
This stumping was a once in a lifetime moment for Dhoni as the world had never witnessed a stumping like that. This stumping showed that Dhoni can do anything for his team. Unfortunately, it was not the Indian team’s day during that match. Watch the stumping here.
